Warming Shelter
The Warming Shelter is a program to help meet the needs of the Walpole Island First Nation community members. The key strategies that the program addresses are, our housing stability, food security, and mental health and addictions.
Our target goal is to provide an increased number of connections with Walpole Island First Nations services with referrals to the appropriate programs for mental health, addictions, and wellness.
The Warming Shelter also provides support for members who struggle with inadequate housing by providing access to shelter, food, water, a shower, laundry, a place to sit and enjoy a movie.
